2022 World Series of Poker: Schedule, Announcements and More

We can’t wait to see what this year’s WSOP has for us. The 2022 World Series of Poker is one of the world’s most popular poker tournaments, and poker players the world over are anxiously waiting for the next event in the series. Keep reading and get to know the latest updates for the event.

2022 WSOP Event Schedule

The schedule for the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has been released, and it comprises 88 live and 14 online bracelet events at the Horseshoe (now Bally’s) and Paris casinos on the Las Vegas Strip from May 31 to July 20, as well as a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. As of this year, players will not be needed to present confirmation of inoculation against the COVID-19 virus.

What will be different?

A new location and a new face

One of the biggest changes will be the swap from the Rio Hotel and Casino to the Bally’s on the strip.

Ty Stewart was quoted for saying that the move to the center of the Las Vegas Strip is one of the best changes for this year. Not only is it one of the biggest and best facilities that they’ve ever had for the championships, but they’re also excited for the better accommodations that the visitors will receive!

The move however has also effected the actual poker playing in a variety of positive ways. The new facility will be over two hundred square feet and offer more than six hundred poker tables! This opens up possibilities for many more larger tournaments in the future!

Additionally, the World Series of Poker revealed late last year that actor Vince Vaughn will be the master of ceremonies for this year as well!

Covid-19 Protocols

There are no vaccination or mask requirements.

The use of masks and vaccinations, both of which were necessary during the previous year’s World Series of Poker, have been specifically excluded from the regulations and criteria for the 2022 tournament.

A tremendous response was aroused throughout the poker industry last year when the COVID-19 rules and vaccination mandate were implemented, with some players even going so far as to boycott the World Series of Poker.

The World Series of Poker is already shaping up to be less contentious than previous years, as a WSOP release specifically notes that there will be no vaccine or mask restrictions this year.

Million Dollar Bounty

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2022 will contain a number of new events, the most famous of which being the Million Dollar Reward No-Limit Hold’em tournament, which will involve a $1,000,000 rewards that the competitors will fight for as the eliminate their competitors.

It was originally planned and slated for the 2020 World Series of Poker under the moniker “Mystery Bounty Event,” but unfortunately had to be delayed because of the pandemic, which spread around the world in late 2018.

During the bounty tournament’s first four flights, which will take place between July 2 and July 4, there will be a turbo structure on Flight D. Day 1 will be played in the same manner as a normal tournament, with participants not receiving rewards for knocking out other players until Day 2.

With a guaranteed top payout of one million dollars, the new bounty tournament will undoubtedly draw a large number of competitors all hoping to become the next billionaire in the world.

Tournament of 2021 Champions

The 2022 World Series of Poker will include a redesigned Tournament of Champions, a million-dollar freeroll that will be accessible to all the 88 gold ring and bracelet winners from the 21-22 winners who qualify.

Up to this point, Brian Altman, Jeffrey Trudeau Jr., Joseph Hebert, Phillip Hui (who has already qualified), Angelina Rich (who has already qualified), Preston McEwen (who has already qualified), and Donnie Phan are among the players who have qualified for the Tournament of Champions.
